Halloween Gate Fold Card

I had a little bit of cash in my pocket so I headed off to find a good deal at Big Lots.  I found lots of great stuff a while back and thought I'd try my luck again.  What I did find was a couple of packs of paper, one of which was a 24 pack of glittered halloween papers for only $5.  They are really great papers!  So, using Paper Doll Dress Up for the castle and SVGcuts.com for the ghost, I made this card. :)  I'm entering this card for Mary's PaperCutzChallenge #60 where the requirement is to have a critter of any sort and The Craft Den's Anything Goes Challenge

Wedding Card- a non cricut card

WOW!  GO ME!  Two in one day!    I'm going to a wedding next week and had some time to put this card together.  Not sure what "their colors" are for the wedding, but these subtle purples and silver should work.

The banner is actually a K Marcella sticker from a set I picked up at Tuesday Morning. I'm not quite sure what I'll do on the inside yet... I'll have to update this post when I figure that out!

Fall Card .... as I wish for 70 degree weather when it's 98 outside now!

The heat here in VA right now is oppressive!  It's the end of September and it's 98 degrees  and we haven't had rain here at the house in weeks!  I'm getting in the mood for the change of seasons by hopping from blog to blog, enjoying the beautiful autumn card creations.  I decided to get to work myself.

I was inspired to make this card for the Jitterbuggin' Challenge.  I followed the sketch, used a cricut fall element ( the leaves I found on A Child's Year cartridge) and the pumpkin came from http://paperthisandthat.blogspot.com/2010/07/free-svg-pumpkin.html .  The "pickin punkins" came from SVGcuts.com .  I used my cuttlebug to emboss the brown mat.  One requirement was to use a plaid in the project- mine was the red ribbon. And, finally, I chalked EVERYTHING with my cat's eye chalks.

Vinyl Monograms for Cars

I am so proud of myself :)  I just finished these vinyl mongrams for a friend and her husband.  I especially like the layered effect of the oval mongram.  I used Sure Cuts a Lot to weld the curly initials together.  I think I should make one for myself, now!!

Centerpoint Function problem and a football b-day card

I began putting together a birthday card for a little boy in my daughter's 4th grade class.  Genevieve says he wants a football for his birthday, so hence the football card.  All was going smoothly UNTIL I tried to use the centerpoint function on the penant!  I printed the sentiment on the cardstock using my printer, then placed the paper on my cricut mat, picked the penant from the cartridge (Everyday Paper Dolls), pushed "real dial size" and "centerpoint".  I tried multiple times unloading and reloading, turning the machine on and off, etc., but for no reason I can figure, the cricut kept cutting the penant on another area of the paper!!  ARGH!  I got so irritated, that I finally gave up and just cut out the sentiment and glued it on top of the penant.  Looks tacky to me, but I had no choice.  Has anyone ever had any issues like this before??  Please share!

Tuesday Morning jackpot and Tag Curler Tool

Well, I took someone's advice and hit Tuesday Morning the other day!  I found all sorts of interesting things... not so much the usual papers, but unusual embellishments.  One thing I found and had never seen before was a Making Memories Tag Curler. This funky little tool takes an aluminum embossed or epoxyed tag and bends/curls it around a ribbon.  It was only $8 and came with a box of embossed tags.  Then I found other boxes of epoxyed tags like the one below (18ct) for $2 each.  So, for about $20 I have over 130 tags and the tool- that should last me years!  I got home and had to use it right away!  Here's the result...

Happy Birthday Mackenzie Rose!

At 12:33am 14 years ago my first beautiful daughter was born!  She's ALWAYS made me laugh... well, OK, most of the time ;)  I just finished making her card and I wanted it to fit a challenge, too, since I've been bad with participating in those lately.  I'm entering her card for Card Creations and More by C Ribbon and Bling Challenge
It's another Breezy Backyard lever card from SVGCuts.com but I adjusted the size to an A2.  I used paper flowers and little brads on the lever.  I used my fiskars scalloped edge punch on the front green section and I pop-dotted the "laugh".  I hope she likes it:)

Milk Carton Treat Bags for my daughter's 14th birthday

My oldest daughter is turning 14 this week and we had a great big sleepover for the party.  My husband was smart and took the two youngest to spend the weekend with my brother... and his wife came to help me with the 12 teenagers!  God Bless them both! Anyhow, I wanted to make a special "treat bag" for her guests so I went surfing to see what I could find to inspire me.  I came across a blog that AMAZED me!  This crafter is brilliant! She has a section called "altered stuff" and in it was a free download of an svg file to cut out a milk carton using SCAL. I used plain white cardstock and then stamped it with pink and black swirly dot stamps. If any of you had seen my previous post about the zebra, you will understand my color choice :)  I used ric-rak around the middle of the carton and then pop-dotted the "got friends" over top the ribbon. The scalloped squares were cut from Storybook. I printed "got friends" using my printer (curlz font) and then used the center point function on my cricut to cut them out. I punched two holes with my crop-a-dile on either side of the top of the carton and ran satin ribbon through and tied them shut.  They were filled with candy, nail polish and a cool pen.
