Cricut Robot Bulletin Board Display

I had some fun with my first grade class in computer lab last week!  I found a great game online where they create their own robots.  They get to use a lot of the same graphic and image manipulating functions that MS Office has such as rotating, flipping, sizing, bring to front/back, etc..  Here's the link: http://www.abcya.com/make_a_robot.htm
They also name their robot and have the option to write/type a sentence about the robot.  THEY LOVED THIS!  Because they were so happy with the results, I decided to display their final work.  I didn't have much space or time to prepare the display like I REALLY would have liked to do, so it's pretty simple.  The robot came from SVGcuts.com- their outer space kit.  I also cut the border on the cricut. If I do this again, I'll be sure to save some wall space to make it really special :)

Fabric embellished totes using cricut

I have fallen in love with my cricut for the third time... paper, then vinyl and now (and finally) FABRIC!  I used permanent heat-n-bond that I bought at walmart and then ironed onto the fabric. Then cut my fabric using my cricut and ironed the shapes onto the canvas bags.  I am going to make some of these for the teachers for teacher appreciation week next week! These are for me and my two oldest girls. :)

Porthole card made with free svg from svgcuts.com

Mary at SVGcuts.com has a cute porthole svg available for free, and I decided to turn it into a card for my dad.  He's a boater :)  I used Basic Grey's Granola stack for the brown patterned papers and vellum for the "water".  I resized all the elements to 5.5".  The panfish are also free files from SVGcuts.com.  I used glitter glue for their fins for some sparkle.  The bubbles are dots of glossy accents- a great tip from Sharalyn.  I used gray pearls as the screwheads.

Pop-Up Happy Birthday Ice Cream Card with Bakers Twine

I know! It's been FOREVER since I've posted something.  It's been one crazy school year- I think I have just over committed myself between my daughters' two schools :) 

I miss doing this, so I am going to make a darn good effort to keep it up again.  I made this sweet ice cream card a short while ago and with the weather taking an upturn this coming week, it's put me in the mood for some fun Springy cards! 

You will have to forgive me, I don't remember the name of the EK punch used on the striped paper- which I have also forgotten which stack that was in!  I'm getting old...

Another one of Mary's cut friendly designs.

The ice cream is embossed using the Divine Swirls folder.  I used transparent embossing powder and my heat gun to make the ice cream glisten.  I ran the cherry through my zyron upside down, then added martha stewart fine glitter to it.  Finally, I attached a Memroies Maker tag to the pink and white bakers twine.

The inside "Happy Birthday" is another SVGcuts file: Premium Pop Up Cards.  These files are a nice surprise for the recipient of the card!

Cute little owl pillow boxes

There is a site called www.kerryspapercrafts.com that has the cutest craft ideas!  I don't know if this was her idea originally, but I saw it and fell in love.  I decided to try to put some together on my own.  I first picked up the pillow box file from SVGcuts.com- the Christmas Gift Bags and Boxes collection has the pillow box.  I then used the basic shape files in SCAL2 to cut out the circles for the feathers and eyes, the ovals for the wings, and 3 heart shapes for the feet and beak. For the beak I cut the heart in half.  I used rhinestones that match the paper for the twinkle in the eyes.  My 10 and 5 year old snapped them up!!  They are now adorning their 3D names on their bedroom walls!  I {heart} them so much!!

Mary and Leo over at SVGcuts.com have an amazing new kit available!!  It's the "Pick a Pumpkin" set.  I just LOVE the 3D stuff and this one is putting me in the mood for Fall! The sunflower actually came from their Fall Harvest set. This pumpkin is the "little orange pumpkin" from the kit which is supposed to be just 4" tall, I believe.  I decided, because it has less gluing involved than the big pumpkin, to enlarge it and cut it on 24" paper.  So, mine turned out to be 7" tall.

Movie theme present

We have had a lot of company this summer so I haven't had much time to spend in my craft room :(  I did, however, get the opportunity to use a FUN movie themed svg kit from SVGcuts.com for a dear friend's birthday present.  I had a blast making this and it's such a unique way to give a gift card:)

The kit came with the popcorn box, movie film and gift card holder and 3D popcorn pieces!  For added fun, I printed out the ticket from one I found on the web.  I also printed out black and white photos of my friend to add to the movie film:)  That made it just a tad more personal!  I used my crop-a-dile to put the eyelet on the side of the box for attaching the gift card.  I filled the box with big boxes of "movie candy" and topped with tissue paper. cute, aye?? :)

Thank you cards GALORE!

Summer is a big birthday time for my family.  First, my one daughter is late May, then I'm mid June, then my youngest daughter's is first week of July!  I'm busy planning birthday parties and then making the thank yous!  The first card is one of the waterfall cards from SVGcuts.com... it really is so fun to make and people are always so impressed!  The second card is obviously the lamb from Create a Critter cartridge.  I used the Glitter Stack from DCWV for the mat.  The "thank ewe" I made using my Xyron design runner and disk maker!  It's so cool to be able to write whatever I want on my card:)

Mother's Day Cards

I spent this morning- actually the past few hours- huddled in my craft room enjoying the fact that my kids are back in school after Easter break and just the dog and I are home!!  I got a few mother's day cards completed and I love the way they turned out.  I used the floral accordian card from SVGcuts.com's Lunch with Mom kit and the Swallow Tail Butterfly card from their Edisto Island kit.  Lots of pieces in each card... LOTS!... but the end result is SOO worth the time :) All the patterned papers are from K&Co.  It's teacher appreciation week, so I better get to work on them next!

Cupcake Birthday Card

I treated myself to a little shopping at Joann Fabrics today!  I picked up the DCWV Celebration stack.  My youngest daughter has a friend's birthday to attend and I needed to make a card. So, once again, I used a file from SVGcuts.com's 3D birthday card kit.  The file includes a layered cupcake that I manipulated a bit in SCAL to get the pieces I wanted to use.  I knew I wanted to have the "frosting" white and a seperate piece of paper from the original sihlouette of a cupcake.  I covered the frosting piece in Glossy Accents and carefully sprinkled tiny multi-colored glass beads on it to make it appear to be cupcake sprinkles.  I'm happy with the result. :)  You can't see it in the photos, but the background cupcake paper has pretty blue foiled cupcake liners and the card "sparkles" in person.

Unfortunately, I've had to make 2 sympathy cards in 2 days :(  But, thankfully, Mary over at SVGcuts.com has the perfect freebie this week for such a card.  I also used two different freebie frames they have available on that site, too.  Another rainy day here, so I'm off to take the teens to the mall.  Wish me luck!

Rolled Roses or flowers, Spiral SVG

It's a rainy morning so what better way to spend it than in my craft room!  I came upon this website: Paper and Flowers  where a gifted crafter is selling a "rolled roses" svg for $.99.  Well worth the dollar- I tried to make one myself in Inkscape and failed miserably.  I have spent the morning cutting, gluing and glitter spritzing the roses you see here.  My 14 year old is just nuts about decorating stuff- anything- with my paper flowers that I BUY, not make.  She's gone through an entire large tube of them in a month.  So, I felt really good about using my scrap paper to make all these roses this morning!  Now, I'm off to do laundry :(- not so fun!

FREE SVG: Banner template and Spring Banner craft

I'm so in the mood for spring but it's still pretty darn  COLD!  Soccer games start today and we are going to need to bring lots of coffee and hot chocolate to stay warm. But, I'm trying to stay upbeat by creating a spring craft- a banner for my mantle. The pics I have show it on the wall.  The paper is from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies... can't get any more spring than that!!

Dinosaur waterfall card using fiskars texture plates in the cuttlebug

dang- that's a LONG title!  Anywhoooo....MONTHS ago I bought a set of fiskars texture plates (which are bigger and cheaper than cuttlebug folders AND they are double sided) because I heard you could use them in the cuttlebug. Well, yes, you can... but for whatever reason I had trouble making it work back then.  So, here is the sandwich recipe to make it work correctly but you need to have a pair of Spellbinders Enlarged Embossing Pads (latex rubber sheets) which I found on ebay for $6. RECIPE: A Plate, rubber pad, cardstock, texture plate obviously with the texture you want facing the cardstock, 2nd rubber pad and finally the B plate.  TADAA!  The embossing with the fiskars plates isn't as deep as the cuttlebug, but it still looks great.  SO, this little dinosaur was made using the "leather" fiskars plate.  The entire card file came from SVGcuts.com from the Waterfall Cards kit.  When his tail is pulled, his mouth opens!  It was fun to put together and the kid who receives it will probably have fun with it, too:)

Thank you cards for Basketball Coaches

My daughter's high school needed someone to create some cards and "gift certificates" for her basketball coach, the assistant, and the boys' basketball coach, too.  Yay ME!  What a fun project to volunteer for!  The assistant is also a Spanish teacher at the school, so a friend of mine suggested using "gracias" rather than thank you:)  I liked that idea!  The font for all 3 cards is called "freshman" and it's a free font.  It welds together beautifully!  The basketball and megaphone came from SVGcuts.com's Sports Lovers kit.  The sihlouette of the player came from some place online- a freebie I found.  The gift certificates I created in MS Publisher... so I'm not going to be able to share those with you... but trust me, they are cute! :)

Valentine's favors for classmates

I finally finished them!!  All 3 "critters" are from SVGcuts.com.  The smarties butterflies are for my daughter's 4 year old preschool class.  I used my ATG gun to adhere the smarties to the middle of the butterfly.  Her name is on the back of the butterflies.  My middle daughter's 4th grade class is getting the boxes of Sweetarts.  The boys get the monsters and the girls get the cats! :)  Now, just what to get the teachers?!?

Mini Baby Scrapbook using YourStory Photo for shower gift and a Onesie Card

 

 

I am having such trouble with all these photos!! Maybe that's telling me  I uploaded just TOO many!  But, I wanted to show you all each pocket page of this mini scrapbook that I made with my YourStory Photo!  This one is a 5x7 book. It is my first project and I so enjoyed it, and I spent SO much time on it the last few days.  Honestly, I kept messing up paper cuts.. and finally opted to try a new mat.  Ah, the smell of a new mat... swweeet!  My friend is having a baby...yup, you guessed it..a GIRL!  I guess I'm getting up there in age and not as many friends are having babies this past year.  I was excited to finally put something together using my DCWV Nana's nursery stack!  All of the little interior embellishment cuts are from "baby elements" from SVGcuts.com.  Once again, they had everything I needed!  I used glossy accent on the heart on the onesie, and the baby bottle.  I flocked the row of ducks and I used the cuttlebug on the moon's hat. I also used Martha Stewart fine glitter on the moon and rattle. I cut the front "baby girl" sentiment using the RAVIE font, nudged and welded together.  The background bubble is just one of SCAL's basic shapes- flower, that I warped to fit.  I used a Memory Makers curling tag showing baby feet on the front ribbon.  The left side pages all have Martha Stewart satin photo corners placed for 4x6 photos.  Each page is a pocket to keep whatever momma wants from month to month.  The onesie card I found on a website somewhere... so sorry I can't remember where!  I downloaded the file and then forgot to save the site!  If you recognize it, please comment where it came from!
